You need to have it scanned for codes and cleared with a scanner.Once you have the codes, post them for us and we can try and help you to decipher the problem.
try disconnecting both positive and negative cables on battery once disconnected rub them together for about 30 secs and reconnect. i did it on a 99 grand prix so i could pass inspection
