    REMOVAL PROCEDURE

    1. Open and support the hood.

    1. Remove the cover from the underhood electrical center.
    2. Remove the bolt retaining the underhood electrical center to the upper tie bar.

    1. Rotate and remove the electrical center from the right sheet metal diagonal brace.
    2. Remove the right sheet metal diagonal brace.
    3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

    1. Remove the nut (1) retaining the positive battery cable to the underhood electrical center.
    2. Remove the positive battery cable lead (2) from the stud.

    1. Remove the lower cover from the underhood electrical center.
    2. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the underhood electrical center.
    3. Remove the underhood electrical center.

    REMOVE THE BATTERY

    1. Remove and reposition the underhood electrical center.
    2. Remove the front end sheet metal diagonal brace.
    3. Remove the battery ground (negative) cable from the battery.
    4. Remove the battery positive cable from the battery.

    1. Remove the battery hold down retainer.
    2. Remove the battery. IMPORTANT: Do not tip the battery more than 40 degrees .
