How do you reset 2001 Mazda MPV computer without OBDII?

Disconnected battery terminals to discharge for a couple minutes and also pressed brakes and turned on headlights to dissipate any remaing power.Any help would be greatly appreciated

An odb2 scanner can be purchased for under 35.00. Its a great thing to have around and it works on any car 1996 and up. It is also the only safe way to interact with yor computer. LMS

AutoZone typically will read and clear codes for free, some other parts stores do too.

Usually, if you pulled the power and did all that and the CEL came back on, then that means the problem still exists. Better to get the codes read to figure out why instead of trying to clear them.
