How do you take the radio out of a 2004 Lincoln Navigator that does not have navigation system.

I went on to one of those on-line sites that has instruction of how to projects. It was very general, said remove bezel, didn't say how or where the clips are or how it's anchored,..just a real rip off site. So,..I'm wondering if anyone knows how to do this?

careful about those how to sites...they really mean[ how to get lost in an unfixable project] ok first you got to get a small screw driver and a soft rag to cover the tip...the next is to gently finesse the screw driver around the outer trim[bezel]when you get to a clip the bezel will be harder to pull away in that area, if you use a gentle twisting motion of the screwdriver the clips [POP] rite out...make sure before performing this step there are no screws in the lower bezel, some models do... after bezel removal, I'm assuming you have a standard stock stereo, youll need the radio tool, 2 horse shoe looking inserts, see the 4 holes in the face of the stereo, one tool in each side and gently pull the tools away from it each other, dont pull back until your sure the clips on the stereo are opened [the stereo will wiggle slitely]using the tools pull the stereo out till you can get your fingers on it and grasp and pull out till you can get the stereo plug, unplug, install after market plug you got from RADIO SHACK, a STEREO STORE, or your local parts store...i say get the after market plug kit so you dont have to cut harness,it attaches to the stereo and plugs into the factory harness... your new stereo will probably need a face adapter kit, also available at your local supplier, just follow the directions from the manufacturer of the wiring plug and the face adapter kit and then reverse the disassembly instructions here minus the factory stereo and thats all there is.....ok,,you need-plug kit for your vehicle and new stereo,,and the stereo adapter kit,and the ford stereo removal tool available at your local parts store....and hopefully this is more detailed than the do it yourself site,I HOPE YOU COME BACK WITH ALL YOUR DO IT YOURSELF QUESTIONS,we're all happy to help any we possibly can....

Now that I have done this and while I appreciate the response I got from a reader the CORRECT way o do this do a late model Lincoln Navigator is as follows: Begin at the boot, open top remove stupid plastic clip in front. Tht will allow for the power window button panel to be removed. Then remove the cup/shift flat section. (2 screws & front l/r clips) From there you can safely remove the bezel around the radio. It has two screws underneath and two clips at the top. Use some care but it should come out no problem. Then there are two screws at the bottom of the radio and it's out. My new XM is installed and I love it! [Thanks to me and my Son] Side note! don't be taken by on-line pay sites that give advice. They are full of it.
