How do you remove headlight assembly on a VW 2003 Passat? Thanks

Light tube is loose inside housing and I can't adjust direction of beam.

In Maintenance & Repair > Lights > Headlights
In Makes & Models > Volkswagen > Passat

Headlights,removing And Installing



Removing




  • Remove front bumper and plastic reinforcement behind bumper
  • Disconnect electrical connections at headlight.





  • Remove cap -1-.
  • Remove screws -arrows- and additional screw located under removed cap -1-.
  • Carefully remove headlight assembly forward from opening.

Installing

Installation is in reverse order of removal, noting the following:



NOTE: Check for even gaps between headlight assembly and front
end trim. Adjust gaps as necessary by shifting housing slightly prior
to tightening mounting screws.





  • Install front bumper with plastic reinforcement
  • Check headlight aim.
