According to the S-10 service manual you will need to : a. remove negative battery cable b. drain coolant c. remove heater inlet and outlet hoses ( located under hood, just below the blower case ) d. plug the heater core inlet and outlet lines and inlet and outlet hoses.

Now working from inside the car : remove heater control switch assembly : a. remove and disconnect heater control cables and electrical connectors b. remove core cover, cable from control cam c. remove heater core cover d. remove heater core.

There is a gasket between the heater core and the firewall,,and there is a gasket between the heater core cover and the air duct assembly

Installation is reverse of disassembly.
