lbecerra	How do you replace a power steering line? Chevrolet Malibu. I have a 97 chevy malibu v6, the power steering line wore out or busted down on the bottom where it connects, i have a replacement for it already, i just don't have alot of mechanical knowledge how does one begin to replace it do i start at the bottom and work my way up or start at the top and work my way down. is it easy to replace or does it take a experienced mechanic. any suggestions. thanks

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT

Gear outlet pipe/hose from pump reservoir after sliding spring hose clamp from inlet reservoir tube.
Raise vehicle.
Line retainer (if applicable).
Gear outlet pipe/hose from steering gear.
Gear outlet pipe/hose from vehicle.

INSTALL OR CONNECT

Gear outlet pipe/hose into position on vehicle.
Gear outlet pipe to the steering gear.

Tighten pipe to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.) .

Line retainer (if applicable).
Lower vehicle.
Gear outlet pipe/hose to pump reservoir and spring clamp. Important: Bleed air from system.

Inspect for leaks.

Lower vehicle.
Fill with fluid and bleed system if necessary.
Check for leaks.
