How to check the transmission fluid on a 2005 Saturn Ion?
I only see the oil dipstick. Where is the transmission dipstick and how do I get to it? My car engine has this coverall on top. I need to check it cause its leaking, as told by PepBoys. I don't have funds to get it fixed. Just add in more transmission fluid. And how do I do that if needed?
I know to have car in park and engine running, driven a few miles before checking (correct?). Or put in drive with parking brake on?
PS I will never ever buy/lease a GM vehicle again! My car over and over has had to have the ignition/computer switch replaced. It thinks it's stolen and cuts the gas, in reality it does not do it all the way, I can still drive it. Just some sputtering. That happens with speed bump or cold weather snap.
Or it keeps the key in lock, I have to push in the tranmission button a few times to get it to release the car key.
No other engine problems. 67K miles on it. If that info is needed. How much is its next Maintenance Program gonna cost? Which gennerally only consists of replacing spark plugs, oil and a few other tweaks.
