Two common things can cause these symptoms in your diesel. Both aree easy to fix. First, unplug the ICP sensor and see if the symptoms clear up. If so, youll need to replace it. Second, remove and clean the EGR valve. These will gunk up after awhile and cause these symptoms. Did the mechanic get codes from the engine light? If not, go to your local auto parts store and have them hook up an OBD II scanner and get the codes. Most large stores like AutoZone will do it for free. Come back with the codes and we'll try and help you. Good luck!

    SERVICE TIPS
A failed FICM module can cause diagnostic trouble codes related to injectors even when the injectors or injector wiring are not at fault. The FICM module should be checked for proper operation before evaluating injector operation or wiring issues.
