    Well that's one possibility but the best thing to do would be to get it on a lift where you can spin the rear wheels. It's possible you could have broken a tooth in the ring gear or some such, but there may be a bad u-joint or even a brake problem. Certainly you need to get in there and look around before you cause further damage.
