    Best thing you can do on your own with this is drop the pan and change the oil and filter, and also observe what kind of debris you find at the bottom of the pan. If that doesn't help, then it has to go to a shop for further testing--your symptoms are kind of vague so i can't say much more about it, other than it seems like some sort of pressure issue or valve body issue.

    Update on my truck, the problem was a throttle position sensor, and not the tranny. YAY!!!

    Did you find that problem using a scan tool?

    AHHH, I see what you meant...I thought the transmission was slipping when you said it revs up before engaging...what you meant was that it stays too long in one gear before shifting to another!
