I have a 1998 Ford Taurus. How do I replace the front motor mounts?

I want to do the repairs myself and need to have a reference to look at or read. Anyone out their who could walk me through it?

there should be only one front mount,there is a 18mm nut on the top of your motor mount below your a/c pump,and there is a 18mm nut on the mount up inside your frame,just remove these 2 nuts(place a jack with a piece of 2x4 on it so you dont destroy your oil pan)jack up the engine enough to remove the mount only,reinstall new mount make sure you install correctly,and facing correct way,remove jack and enjoy the ride

No a floor jack rated atleast 2 tons,and becareful

with the floor jack do u still need the 2x4. can you lift just the passangers side of the vehicle to complete this job.....do u happen to live in az

With out the 2x4 you are risking damage to the oilpan,you 1/2 to jack the engine up to remove the motor mount,and the best place for this is the oilpan,i live in mass

O.k. I will get a 2x4, Is there only 1 way to get it to fit in right or have people put the mount in backwards?

NO IT REALLY WONT FIT GOOD IF IT IS WRONG JUST PAY ATTENTION WHEN YOU ARE TAKING IT OUT
