Welcome to the club....

Its either the wiring bulkhead connection - the connection corrodes - its located under the vehicle approximately under the drivers seat...or its a bad fuel level sending unit (most likely), they are frequently fouled by sulfur in the fuel on many GM models...the only repair is to drop the fuel tank and replace the sensor.
