    what kind of scanner? Generic hand-held or a real Chrysler DRB-II scanner? Just asking....there may in fact be codes. There SHOULD be, at any rate. If it's not a DRB type scanner, it's probably not going to work, or tell you very much.

    Shifting on your trans is controlled by a governor (pressure valve) and the valve body. The various clutches can be air-pressure-tested statically.

    Naturally you want to check your fluid level and shifting linkages before you start tearing anything apart.

    WILL THIS THING UPSHIFT IF YOU GET GOING FAST ENOUGH AND LET OFF THE GAS IF SO CHECK YOUR DETENT CABLE,DO YOU HAVE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IF NOT AND NO CODES IT IS SOMETHING MECHANICAL,THE DETENT CABLE HOOKS ON THE THROTTLE VALVE LINKAGE ON THE TRANS LEFT SIDE THESE SOMETIMES GET RUSTED AND FREEZE,CHECK THIS AND CHECK CABLE AND TRY TO SEE IF IT WILL SHIFT BY LETTIN OFF THE GAS AT AROUND 15 TO 20 MPH AND REPOST
