I have a 2001 Pontiac Montana. Van will not start.

2001 Pontiac Montana van. The battery is new but when connected will not hold a charge. When I try to start the interior lights flicker the odometer will not register and the radio will not turn off and a loud buzz or hum is emitted through them. The radio after trying to turn it off several times will read error in led window. Even with a boost it will not start or even turn over.

I would start with the ignition switch. GM ignition switches are very prone to failure. You can test this theory by seperating the steering column covers & tapping on the switch itself to see if it corrects the problem. On some gm vehicles you can test this by turning on your hazard lights before starting the car. If either of these tricks work, you will need to replace your ignition switch. Otherwise you have an electrical draw. You will need a dmm (digital multimeter) to test for a draw.
