I have a 2004 GMC Envoy that dies when the air is put on. I have a new battery & alternator.

The car dies out the minute the air is put on and also died once w/o the air on.

How is the idle speed? Normal? Too low? Rough?

If so,

Have you checked for any vacuum leaks, which will disrupt idle speed? Also the Idle Air Control Valve.

If idle is fine, smooth, normal RPM, I believe there is a device that should boost your idle speed when the AC is turned on (to compensate for drag on the engine). Perhaps this needs to be looked at.
