I have a 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser. Why does the oil light remain on even though the oil is ok?

the oil light remains on,even though the oil level is ok. why is this happening?

In Maintenance & Repair > Oil
In Makes & Models > Chrysler > PT Cruiser
In Maintenance & Repair > Electrical > Sensors

Is the light supposed to come on as a service reminder to change oil? If the oil is full and there is no valve tappett or engine noise, the light just might need to be turned off. You can go to Autozone or other major parts retailer and they'll run a free diagonostic check, and also erase the oil light from the dash. Go for it it's free.
