vpugh	I have a 2005 Honda Civic Hybrid. Is it possible to drive it safely without the hybrid battery? The hybrid battery is dying, but the car is driving great. It continues to get adequate gas mileage - 36 mpg. I would prefer to drive it as is rather than buy the pricey battery. The car has 105,000 miles.

I've read that people continue to drive them with the IMA light on---some people replace their 12V battery and this sometimes shuts the light off for a while.

have a look at this video---it may not be the battery pack after all!
