edrx400h	I have a 2006 Lexus RX400h. The daytime running lights do not work, nor do the high beams work. Any suggestions? I have the shop manual for this RX400h. When all these lights went inoperative I called the dealer. They said that the lights were burned out. I have HID lighting. $340.00 a piece. I have never had a car were more than one light burned out. Though possible, I did not feel good about what the dealer said. I had reviewed the possible causes of why these lights are not working. In my case with HID lightening, the daytime running lights are the low beam lights with a reduced voltage. There are 3 DRL relays, and one 7.5 amp fuse, ignition circuit, and the day night sensor. These are all tied together. If you have the fog lights on and you turn on the high beams, then the fogs go off and the low beam/daytime running lights go off. This is the normal operation. Is it possible that both of these lights are burned out, or can one of the relay(s) be bad. Has anyone had any experience with this problem?

I have the same problem on a 2008 Toyota Avalon . When I was researhing the problem , I learned that Toyota has issued what they call a Technical Service Bulletin . Not a recall but they do admit there is a problem. They have redesigned the headlight assembly and have agreed to pay 1/2 the cost of replacing both. ( $ 2200 ) As of this writing I have not accepted their offer . You may check to see if there has been a service bulletin issued on your vehicle . Sevice managers at the dealer will not volenteer this information. You have to ask or look online . Hope this information helps .
