I have a 86 Mercury Grand Marquis that will only start with a boost. I replaced the battery and still get the same result.
once started, the car runs fine, but as soon as i turn it off, it needs a boost again to start. the interior lights, radio, headlights, power locks/windows, trunk, all work fine. i heard something about a battery fuse. does this apply to my vehicle and if so where is it located

A dead battery can't be charged up just by running the engine for a little while. You'll have to first of all get your battery fully charged up and then see how it behaves. Probably you either have a bad battery or a faulty charging system. If the battery fuse (fusible link) was bad, the car wouldn't start even with a jump, so that's not your problem.
