    I would check the wiring harness that is located in the left side trunk hinge, these are a common problem with the LS. This can cause a stumble for it is also a ground circuit.

    Methinks this car needs to go to a better qualified repair shop to test the charging system thoroughly. When the car's charging voltage is low, the ECM computer goes bonkers and all kinds of symptoms might occur.

    If the alternator is a rebuilt from a chain store, it might very well be bad again. Some types of rebuilt alternators have a 10% or so failure rate.
