    I must be missing something here?

    You said "the cooling fan is not coming on"

    Then,,," I unhooked the cooling fan"

    Ah...That fan is there for a REASON and you really need to get it working again either by hooking it back up or by replacing it if it's gone bad.

    plug the fan back in and check the coolent temperature sensor
