    sounds like you have excessive wear in the main bearings or you are not keeping enough oil in the engine,(you said it burns oil) to much wear in the bearings just lets the oil run on through and it will not build up any pressure,the remedy for that is new bearings,(overhaul engine)the running crappy part is probably because your motor has too much blow by and its getting oil vapor in the air intake and may be fouling the plugs...

    I have a 96 S-10 2.2L and it had the same problem, I brake 3 timing chains because my oil presure was very low.
    I change cam shaft and cam bearings one year ago.
    That was the problem. maybe this can help you.
