I have a BMW 740IL. Will a 2008 navigation CD be compatible with my navigation setup?

I was looking at buying a 2008 navigation cd for my 2001 BMW 740il. Will this cd be compatible with my car's computer?

In Car Accessories > Navigation System > Factory Navigation
In Makes & Models > BMW > 7 Series

That's not an easy question. There's a lot of bogus stuff out there. I think you should read up on this and talk to these people:

I'm not recommending them per se (never dealt with them) but they seem to know a lot.
