I Have a 98 GMC Sonoma 2.2 5speed.I was wondering if a 98 GMC Sonoma with a 4.3 5speed have the same computer.

Would a 98 GMC Sonoma or S-10 4.3 vortec 5Speed bolt and plug up to my computer in a 98 GMC Sonoma 2.2 4 cyl. 5speed?

No, they don't.
ECMs in most vehicles are VIN specific.
At the very least, they are specific to the engine codes.
So, the engine code for the 4.3L is different than the engine code for the 2.2L.

If you are trying to put the 4.3L in your vehicle, you will run into a ton of problems. One of which being, if you have to have the vehicle DEQ'd, there is a possibility that since your vehicle's VIN is for a 2.2L, the facility doing the testing will fail the vehicle, because their system will show that a 2.2L engine is in the vehicle, not the 4.3L.
