I'd suggest you test drive the seats on the new Honda Accord and the Toyota Camry Hybrid. They are both considered quite roomy in the tush area and are fuel efficent and reliable, especially the Camry Hybrid. If your looking for a slightly more luxurious ride, I would check out the Lexus ES. People tend to make the decision to buy a Lexus ES when they sit inside. The cabin of the ES is one of the nicest available at this price point, with soft leather and plush seats. It is quite good on gas as well. Good luck on your choice!

I don't think anyone can figure this out for you, since it is as personal as trying on an article of clothing. How can we know what fits you?

But there might be general guidelines as you hop from car to car and try them out. Anything with a sun roof in a coupe style is going to have less headroom. Anything advertised with "sport seats" is going to have very aggressive side bolsters to limit width. Also a power seat that adjusts 6 ways seems essential for you as does a car with a center console that does not dig into your right calf. Your best bet might be to go toEdmunds New Car section, pick out various makes you are interested in, and then read their "specs". You'll see a dimension for shoulder room, head room and hip room. You can also use the site to compare cars side by side.

Headroom and economy go together in some cars - you can get cars without a sunroof (a headroom killer) only as 4-cylinder versions (Accord), with others you can get v6 w/o sunroof. Check if there's a car show near you in the next several months, you can try out lots of cars at one time.
