dunezers	I have a 2006 Toyota RAV4 and the check engine light has come a few times. Dealer says code P0606, but can't find anything wrong. I have a 2006 Toyota RAV4 with 108,000. I got my tires changed on a Friday and next day on the highway check engine, vsc, and traction light came on. Dealer found codes P0606, C1201, C1223, and C1249. Could not find anything wrong. He reset and a few days later, lights came on again. This time another dealer found P0606 and P1578, but could not find anything wrong. Could the tire installer have done something to screw things up to give me these codes or do I just have a bad ECM I will have to replace? Other than the warning lights, the car is driving fine.

Before condemning the ECM, I would check and clean the ground connections for the ECM, and for the ground cables from the battery to the vehicle body or the engine to the firewall. If the battery is not grounded to both the engine and to the vehicle body, it can cause problems in the computer operation. But Toyotas are also known for defective computers.
