dancingbear2	I have electrical problems on 2002 Chevy Silverado. The dash lights and gauges go crazy. What is causing this? I normally use switch on door panel to lock door. It would not work neither would the key fob. I tried to restart truck and absolutely nothing. The third try and the truck started. Everything fine for two weeks. Yesterday when I backed out of driveway and put truck in drive all gauges and lights went crazy in the dash radio would go off and on. Engine lost power but did not die. Turned around a went back home. Restarted truck many times and all seemed ok. I have removed and checked battery cables they look good. What next?

You might scan for a trouble code and see if anything comes up.

You might READ THIS ARTICLE about BCMs--Body Control Modules---but this is just a guess---you might also have something going on like a loose wire to the ignition switch, or a bad connector (plug) behind the dashboard, etc.

Intermittent problems are tough to solve. It's hard to find something that isn't always there.

In addition to what Mr Shiftright has suggested I might be thinking about an intermitent problem with alternater
