I heard that the Lexus ES 300 transmission was interchangeable with the RX 300 transmission. Is that true?
1999 FWD Lexus RX 300 automatic transmission died on me. Just quit working. Just wouldn't move in any gear. Engine runs great. The reason I ask the question is because I found a used ES 300 automatic transmission thats half the price of a RX 300 automatic transmission. Notice that the Transmissions ID# 4 SP FWD U140E Transmission were the same. Although, the ES 300 mentions a 18 bolt pattern.
