stell65	I just got my fuel pump replaced but now my gas gauge doesn't work. It worked before it was fixed. Chevy Blazer. I have a 2001 Blazer Chevy. I had my fuel pump replace and when I got I back the gas gauge did not work. I was told it may be the float or a sign that the fuel pump will go out soon again. It was just fixed last week. Today makes it 8 day from the time the work was done but I just had the fuel pump replaced. I don't know - really need to know what's wrong, help.

The mechanic that replaced the fuel pump most likely forgot to reconnect the fuel sending unit wire. Take it back to the shop and have them reconnect it.

so does it mean he has to drop the tank all over again does it have to be done like he started the first time with the fuel pump and thank you for answering my question

Maybe not. It depends where the connection to the fuel sending unit is located.
