I keep hearing a clicking noise behind the dash when the engine is running. Any suggestions?

About a week ago the truck would not start and took 3 to 4 jumps before starting. It would run with no problems but when you turn the car off, it would not restart. I have the battery tested and it showed the battery was bad. I replaced the battery and it started fine but now i hear this clicking noise behind the dash. Today it acted like it didn't want to start and after a few tries, it finally started but it would cut off when i would come to a stop. So i had to put the truck in neutral at lights and pump on the gas to keep it running. I'm not sure what the problem might be?

What year, make, and model? Do you have a voltage gage? Does the clicking change with the engine rpm, or is it steady?

Sounds like you need to replace the alternator.
