    hard to say...we can't hear it and don't know the conditions under which it occurs. Naturallly the first thing you check is fluid level in the gearbox/transfer case. If that's okay, have it run up on a lift that allows the wheels to turn, and have someone listen underneath while someone else is shifting through the gears.

    You could also drain your gearbox and look for metallic debris---a good hint of trouble.
