I still have a couple of problems with my GMC truck and disabling the traction control.

I have pressed this button for the 5 second rule but as soon as I get my truck steering wheel either way lock to lock and spin the tires really fast as to not get stuck the ST light flashes and the brakes pulsate a bit but the good thing is the engine does not idle down anymore.

Do you think there is a problem or is this the way it should work.

PS
I appreciate the quick response to my question!!!!

Was this a follow-up question to a question you already asked? If so, you should post it as an answer to your first question so that the people who were trying to help you can follow-up. It also keeps everything in one line on what the initial problem was and final resolution.

In looking at your question above... I have no idea which car you are talking about or what button you are referring to.

Yeah okay I remember this question even though it was re-posted in the wrong spot. The question was about how to disable the traction control on a GMC truck when the driver wanted to make the tires spin to get out of a snow drift, etc, without having the engine shut down.

So I told them to use the over-ride button at the bottom of the shift lever that disables TC but not the Stabil-trak or whatever GM calls it.

Which they did, and now it sounds like everything is working as it should.

So, our work is done here.
