I had work done on my Chrysler Sebring; water pump, radiator, timing belt. Could that work affect my power steering?

I have a 1997 sebring convertible. I just had the water pump, thermostat and timing belt replaced. Also had radiator flushed. Now when I back the car up and turn the steering wheel to go forward it sticks for a few moment. It doesn't want to turn at first. Once I drive it is totally fine. Corners and all. Except if I have to back up then turn to go forward. I know sebring's are not fun to work on and the mechanic had a ball I think. I was curious if all these were close together and maybe somehow with all the work, it messed with the steering. Thanks to whoever can help me with this.........

Yes Karen, the mechanic had to mess around with the power steering pump since it is driven by the same serpentine belt that drives the water pump. I suspect you may just need to take it back to the mechanic to have the belt readjusted. I know for a fact that putting everything back together after replacing the timing belt is not easy on the sebring model. Good luck!
