If a car is a CPO then the dealer's CPO status changes, does the car remain a CPO?

A car I'm thinking of buying had a CPO window sticker at dealer and dealer website says they are a CPO dealer, however, they are now saying they haven't been a CPO ealer for about six months. Would the car still be considered a CPO vehicle?

Interesting question.

I doubt it. CPO cars are "offered for sale by your local dealer with the support of the vehicle's original manufacturer, with warranties that extend beyond the initial coverage."

Certified Used Vehicle Programs

If the dealer is offering a "certified" car, I bet it's covered by a third party warranty, not one backed by the manufacturer.

You could contact the manufacturer and ask.

It's a Ford dealer and a Ford car. Make a difference? Isn't it possible it was already a cpo when they got it? I was reading the program benefits and it says once it is a cpo the warranty transfers to next owners. There is only 33k miles on car and the powertrain warranty would be 100k. Need to wait until Mon to contact Ford. Thanks
