If car runs out of gas is there a failsafe that needs to be reset? Pontiac Montana.
Battery on our 2006 Pontiac Montana was bad. I changed battery, car started but only ran for minute or so. Further inspection revealed car might be out of gas. Gauge read "e" and idiot lite on. Put gas in car, still won't start, turns over good. Is there something i need to do because of battery change or out of gas?

I had a similar problem running the car out of gas. Turns out the gunk in the tank ran into the fuel filter and clogged it. So check your fuel filter to make sure it is not clogged. I do not think there is a switch to reset in that situation, but do check your owner's manual or ask the dealer service department to be sure.

if you look under hood, on radiator brace you will find a sticker that might say if you have a reset switch. you can also look in your owners manual under troubleshooting for the proper procedures to follow.the manual may direct you to bleed your fuel injector rail which sounds harder than it is. good luck.
