In computing True Cost to Own (TCO), are you using current gasoline prices as of July '08?

The last I heard (a few years back), fuel costs were increased 3% a year in the TCO calculations.

There are lots of other variables that can make your TCO vary from Edmunds, but remember what you are really comparing is one vehicle's cost of ownership to another. All the cars you are comparing will be paying more for gas or diesel. More in the CarSpace TCO Discussion.

From the TCO FAQ:

Fuel

This expense is based on EPA mileage figures, assuming consumption consists of two-thirds highway and one-third city driving, and that the vehicle has an automatic transmission unless automatic is not available. Cost estimates are based on self-service prices, using regular unleaded gasoline for vehicles whose manufacturers require regular; premium unleaded gasoline for vehicles whose manufacturers require premium; or diesel fuel for diesel vehicles.
