Is insurance cheaper for convertibles?

Is insurance really cheaper for convertibles?

I have researched insurance ratings on-line at State Farm and iihs.org. The Beetle, Solara, and Miata are rated very low in insurance LOSSES for all model years.

Do these ratings hold true and result in lower insurance premiums for actual owners?

normally insurance will be slightly higher due to the fact a convertable has more suseptability for bodily damage in the event of an accident.my convertable cost me 50 dollars a year more to insure than my 3/4 ton 4x4

Those particular vehicles you have listed will result in a lower premium versus other high repair type vehicles such as a corvette. More importantly your driving record affects rates more than anything else. I'm sure you know that already. =)
