Is there a legitimate extended warranty company? Just got a Ford F-150.
I just bought a 2003 Ford F-150 w/ 69,000 miles, from an individual and I was wondering if I should purchase an extended warranty?

Most companies are legitimate. You have to do your homework first and check on the internet and the Better Business Bureau. Only look at either manufacturer sponsored warranties or companies that are nationally ranked companies with a good repuitation. Edmunds.com has an entire section on how to shop for extended warranties at: http://www.edmunds.com/advice/warranties/articles/47681/article.htmlDO NOT sign any agreement until you have done your homework! Good luck!

Also, make sure you know exactly what is covered. Many folks have been surprised at being refuesed coverage. Just know that, on average, you will pay more than you get in benefits, otherwise the companies would go out of business.
