    Just drive them back to back and see which one you like. That matters much more than hp ratings. The Mazda has gotten a lot of favorable reviews. And the mpgs are good.

    HP ratings can fool you---also the Rogue is hooked to a CVT transmission while the CX-5 is convention manual or automatic. So while the Rogue has more displacement (and theoretically more torque, or "grunt"), the CX-5 may in fact feel peppier due to better gearing.


    You gotta drive them back to back to really know.
