Is it normal scheduled maintenance for the required maintenance light to come on after 21k miles on a '08 Toyota Camry?

I recently bought a 2008 Camry XLE. Right as the odometer hit 21k miles, the required maintenance light came on. It has been warning me that maintenance would be required soon so I am assuming that the light comes on for all Camry's at 21k miles. Is this just a normal scheduled maintenance mileage mark to check fluids and such? I have had an oil change in the past couple months so I do not believe that is the issue.

The light does not come on at specified mileage. The computer calculates maintenance based on the type of driving you do. If you failed to reset the light when you changed the oil, yuo have basically "confused" the computer and need to reset it. Do so every time you change the oil and filter or perform other maintenance work. The owner's manual will have all that information. If you have misplaced yours, go to:
