Is there a trick to removing the rear line from a Ford F-250 fuel filter?

I'm trying to remove the fuel filter on a 1999 F 250. The front line came off fine but I can't get the removal tool to work on the line coming from the tank to the rear of the filter. Any help would be appreciated.

In Vehicle Type > Truck
In Maintenance & Repair > Fuel System
In Makes & Models > Ford > F-250
