Jeep 2004 Liberty 4WD High Range dash light.

On my 2004 Jeep Liberty, the 4WD High-Range dash light is on when the 4WD is off. When I engage the high-range 4WD, the dash light goes out! This just started this weekend after I'd pulled the 4WD lever instead of the emergency brake when I was parking on a slope. Now the dash light works backwards!
