Jeep Wrangler gear stuck in park. Automatic transmission.

my Jeep Wrangler is stuck in park. any ideas what could be wrong?

In Makes & Models > Jeep > Wrangler
In Maintenance & Repair > Transmission > Automatic

Not knowing what year it is I can only give you two ideas. One is the lock mechanism most newer cars have that keep you from putting it in gear if the brake pedal is not depressed. The other is if It rolled back against the park cog in the trans and the weight of the vechicle against it has it trapped. For this you can try rocking the car while someone trys to pull it out of park. The brake pedal interlock can usually be disconnected. Lee
