My 02 Mercury Mountaineer idle goes up when its hot outside. this causes the car temp to increase. What's wrong?

when it's 70 degrees or better the idle of the car increase from 750 rpm to 1200 rpm this makes the car overheat. the car is a 2002 Mercury Mountaineer 4.0 6 cyl. i have changed the thermostat, hoses, air filter, idle air control valve. what could be the problem.

Number one check antifreeze level If down can cause surging second before filling--take out sensor--see if cracked it is on recycling tank Bob B
