My 1995 Deville does not move sometimes when I put it in gear after start up.
After start up, sometimes when I put the car in drive or reverse it will not move. A switch locked message appears on the display.

You are lucky that your car is telling you exactly what's wrong. Look in your owners manual regarding the dashboard error definitions. It will tell you why the light is coming on and more important help a local mechanic fix the issue for you. More than likely you have an old tranny switch or selenoid that's beginning to fail and needs replacing. I suggest taking this to a repair show soon before you find yourself stranded somewhere and need a tow.
