My 2002 Ford Windstar has door lock problems. When using the power locks sometimes the drivers door will not lock.

Using the power locks, most times the drivers door will not lock-sometimes the side doors will not unlock though they will lock.

Any ideas as to the issue?

You'll need to do some further diagnostics, to isolate this problem.

I don't have the electrical schematics for your vehicle, but typically you would have a couple door lock swicthes (passenger and drivers sides), some sensors and switches in the door to determine that the door is closed, then the electronics to control everything.

Determine first whether the problem appears isolated to the drivers lock switch, or when it is failing that the passenger lock switch doesn't work either. If the passenger works, and the drivers doesn't, then I would suspect the drivers switch. If neither work, then it could be one of the sensors is not shutting and the computer thinks the door is ajar, and preventing it from being locked. You may have other symptoms if that is the case, like door ajar light, overhead dome light on, chime, etc.

If neither drivers or passenger switches work, and it's not a door sensor switch, then I'd be looking at the body control computer module.
