    Well you'd have to determine if this is just an adjustment problem to the external gear linkage cable or arm (that is, it's not fully engaging the Park position) or if the damage is internal---if it's internal, it still may be easily accessible by removing the pan and replacing what is broken. I don't have a blow-up diagram of this particular transmission, but most transmissions are held in park by a "parking pawl"--a kind of rod, or notched device that locks up the gears.
