My Daughter owns a 1996 GMC Jimmy. The motor won't turn over at all. No reaction at all when key is turned.

The battery is brand new and has 12.72 volts. There is no reaction at all when the key is turned except the fuel pump running. No clicking at all. Totally silent. The battery cable terminals were cleaned and replaced also. I also checked the fuses in the dash side panel. Any help is appreciated!

your problem is not as bad as you think, your starter is the colprate, trust me, if you have power and no click, which is the sound of your starter engaging you need to take your starter off and have it checked! good luck!

SIR THE STARTER CLUTCH OR WHAT IS SOMETIMES CALLED THE KICKOUT PART OF THE STARTER HAS FROZE UP TRY TO HIT IT A FEW TIMES WITH A SMALL HAMMER. IT IS AT THE FRONT OF THE STARTER GOING INTO THE ENGINE. I WOULD STILL CHANGE IT OUT, BUT A STARTER CLUTCH IS CHEAP A STARTER IN FULL CAN BE EXPENSIVE. THIS IS A JOB YOU CAN EASILY DO WITH A MANUEL. MARK
