My air conditioner wants to blow out all three vents at once instead of selected one. How do I fix?

My air condition wants to blow out the defrost, front and floor board all at one time. I turn the switch to change it and it does not change to where I want it to blow. Someone said their is a air control door that controls it but we do not know where to find it. Car stays to hot since air does not blow on you from front vents but everywhere a little air.

Sounds like you have a vacuum driven diverter door system. Check on the engine compartment side of your firewall and see if you can locate the vacuum lines leading into the cabin side (interior). If you locate them, trace them back and forth to make sure they are not broken or have a hole in them.

Unless you are mechanically inclined, I would not suggest attempting disassembly of the system. And even if you can take some stuff off, then what? You may have to bite the bullet and have a shop fix it. You may want to consider taking it to a "automotive electric" shop. They should have more expertise at testing switches/vacuum than other generic shops.
